Long-term funding for ocean conservation is a challenge.
Now we have a solution.
Oceans Forward has developed the world’s first rum distillery with the purpose of financing efforts to protect marine life.
Through Rosalie Bay Distilling in Dominica, we produce top-shelf single rum. All revenue generated from rum sales goes to fund programs that protect marine animals and their habitats in the Caribbean.
Rum for Animals and People
Making Rosalie Bay rum is a community effort. From farm to flask, the talented people of Dominica are growing sugar cane and crafting the rum. The distillery gives community members additional income and opportunities for long-term employment. Since Rosalie Bay Distilling contributes to sustainable livelihoods while supporting ocean conservation, it is a win-win for the people and marine animals of Dominica.

A Distillery with a Purpose
Rosalie Bay Distilling is a farm to flask operation that produces up to 7,000 bottles of rum annually. We are the only distillery in Dominica and proudly focused on local people, animals, and habitats. Our single rum is crafted and bottled on the island. You can buy it locally at hotels and shops, and we ship to the U.S. for commercial distribution.
Great rum that’s good for the environment
Because conservation is at the heart of our work we keep our ecological footprint small. We are currently fundraising to convert our facilities to 100% solar power, we store rainwater for periods of drought, and we maintain on-site wastewater treatment that supplies clean water for irrigation.
We aim to make distillery operations completely carbon neutral, including sail-based, fossil-fuel free product transport between Dominica and the US.
